Caio is one of the founding partners of magellan IP, and with over 18 years of professional experience in the field of intellectual property. Prior to founding magellan IP, Caio was an associate at renowned Brazilian intellectual property firms, specializing in the practice area of patents and designs.

His background is pharmacology with a masters degree in biologic medicines and his work includes drafting and prosecuting of patents before the BPTO, patentability analysis, technology transfer, freedom to operate analysis, legal opinions, oppositions, appeal proceedings and general consultancy services in intellectual property. He specializes in small molecules, biologic molecules,medicines, diagnostics, as well chemistry and biochemistry inventions. He is also particularly active in matters involving regulatory affairs. 

Caio is a member of the Brazilian Intellectual Property Association and Brazilian Intellectual Property Agents Association head of the patent practice team at magellan IP.
