Dr. Fritz Wetzel is a German and European Patent Attorney and has practiced Intellectual Property law since 2002 with a focus on Chemistry related topics, in particular organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, plastics technology, pigments and dyes, liquid crystals,LCD and OLED´s, biochemistry, bioorganic chemistry, pharmaceuticals, process technologies, biotechnology and medicine technology. He has long-standing experience in patent drafting, prosecution, legal opinions, license and other contracts, litigation, oppositions, and nullity proceedings as well as in trademark and design law.

In 2023 Fritz founded his own IP law firm BlackIP Legal which is a full-service IP Law Firm covering Patents, Trademarks and Designs from the first consulting to the enforcement of IP rights. In 2024 he joined Dantz IP & Law in Berlin as Of-Counsel.

Fritz is admitted to the European Patent Office, the German Patent and Trademark Office, the German Federal Patent Court and the German Supreme Court for nullity proceedings. He is also a registered European Trademark and Design Attorney.
