Justin Pierce is a co-chair of Venable's Intellectual Property Division. Justin is a trusted advisor to leading global businesses on a wide range of complex and high-impact matters related to artificial intelligence (AI), innovative technologies, and the use of intellectual property to build sustainable competitive advantages. Drawing on his experience as a former senior in-house IP counsel at Sony Mobile, Justin brings a practical, business-oriented perspective to advising clients on the strategic management, protection, commercialization, and monetization of intellectual property assets. He regularly guides clients on how best to acquire, develop, and leverage their IP portfolios to achieve business objectives and maximize value. Justin is an adjunct professor, teaching Strategic Management of Intellectual Property at Georgetown University Law Center. He hosts the AI & IP: Legal Frontier podcast series and is a frequent speaker, sharing insights on the strategic management of IP and the business impacts of emerging technology and innovation trends.
